Flux gate switching, by way of using a Toroidal core with 'slot' can be accompalished in two modes.
1) Dyanamic
2) Static
When the 'slot' is a Physical separation in the Toroidal field path, it has a physical 'Switcher'(Magnetic Dipole) that Dynamically carries out the Flux -Gate switching.
The 'slot' can be created by Electromagnetic Separation where the Switching occurs.
this is Static Flux gate switching.
The advantage of the Static Switcher is that it can be driven at very high Frequencies and the corresponding out put to this can be very high as well.
this is a real Solid-state Radiant- Electromagnetic power supply that can deliver Over-unity power.
