Help SG3524 based charger

I remember being in the shop and him talking about the inverted circuits, but honestly at that point I was way in over my head I also remember him being very "dont look at it too hard" sort of attitude so I tried not to....... I could never get him to tell me how far apart the antennas were.... the circuit reminds me of the ground radio and stubblefield.

Tom C, thanks for the link. I don't remember ever seeing that page.
I thought the antenna was like the one shown in the FEG book. Anyway, did Rick tell you what the size of the first "Very large cap" was? The only way I can think that this circuit would work properly is if that cap was a low uF HV one, something like 10uF 450v. The other bank of caps would be high uF, low voltage - something like 60,000uF 80v.

that makes sense to me, the large cap would work better low Uf hi voltage, that way you get the whole spike into the cap. I am not totally sure where the gains from the antenna get into the recieving battery, or what exactly is switching the opto, I have never seen an opto driven from a radiant antenna intput. there are no pinouts for the chip, loooks like the small cap up top on the left side drives the 3524.

The 3524 would have to be externally powered, a 9v battery would probably do. It in turn switches the optos to fill and spill the cap bank.
I might string up an antenna on the weekend and see what I can get out of it. On the other hand, that page of JB's you put the link up for has some very interesting ideas. Hmmm, water and natural gas pipes are copper
