Spark on the resistor R and self charge

Hi all,

In the classique circuit, without ne-2, no secondary batt.

If the spark is maintained on the variable resistor R and if this resistor not die, the primary batt self charge with high speed, but the problem is the die of this resistor, you have a solution for maintening this spark with no die the resistor? a good variable resistor with variable spark is the solution?
