I had set up a solid state SSG with CPD mod following Patrick's video of changing just one wire on the standard wheeled configuration; that is, that the trigger wire moves from the primary neg to the primary positive. I got good results, in fact the best charging I've seen to date. But that coil got warm so I made a new coil without a core to see if that would work with less heat.
I wired it up the way I did the last one and I'm getting constant current with no triggering and no oscillation. Here's a video, any ideas?
