Early Test Results 8-coiler

This first test was intended to be preliminary.
Purpose, to simply get it up and running and take a look around at it.

It runs on one transistor.
It runs for a while then rolls to a stop.
The ne2 bulb lights up when the charge side is disconnected.
There is accompanying audio as this happens.
It puts a charge to the charge battery.

RPM my first guess is around 100.
26 inch wheel presently with 31 magnets. ( This will be adjusted probably downwards to 24 in the next test ).
12vdc 7aH gel cells, not brand new.

If a piezo buzzer such as Radio Shack 273-0059 is connected across one of he coils, there is
output sufficient to activate the buzzer. However as the test continued, this changed,
and the buzzer itself was not up to volume. My explanation for this is REMF buildup.
Also, the buzzer emitted a sound similar to static towards the end of the test.

Other things being equal, this test is counted as 'successful'.

Are these voltage readings correct?

When the board is connected, there is a voltage drop of approximately
22.6 vdc between certain points on the board and the charge battery.

Specifically, at the terminal block screws numbers 1, 4, 7, 10, 13...
Or, reading from the left, the first one, then every 4th one has a reading of 22.6 vdc.

My question is, is this OK, and what should the other readings be, with the batteries
connected, and everything set for manual start? I mean with one transistor connected, etc.

Results

At 204 rpm, the machine outputs

Estimated current output is 300 ma.

please upload pictures of your machine... are you running 1 coil with 9 srands? 8 power 1 trigger? you say its an 8 coiler.... why are you running leds, its meant to charge batteries.

First a word of thanks to you personally, and to all else concerned, for the forum,
and for answers to early questions. The pictures will follow soon hereafter.

The machine is 8 strands of #23 wire, and the circuit is 8 transistors total. Of course
one coil is the trigger, and the others are the power windings. One transistor is not
connected to anything. So it is running on 7 transistors. This factoid is part of
my learning curve.

Since early on, it has been charging batteries. I am using gel cells, 12v 7ah.
I have been experimenting with capabilities of this machine, as pertains
to output. For example, I recently connected two such batteries to the
charge side. I have been adding banks of 15 white leds. The ones I am
using are available from a local autoparts. They come in a package designed
for decorating interior of cars and such. See the pics when I post them.

Recently the digital meter began acting strange -- but I have few words to
describe. I believe the meter itself is doing as it should however.

Today's experiment was to disconnect the charge side batteries ( two in parallel ) and
connect the led banks, four of them, for total of 60.

The machine is powered from the run side by a power supply.

Picture #3 shows the circuit board. The
circuit board is supported underneath
by small blocks of wood. The wires
from the coil are routed from the
spool, underneath the circuit board,
and on toward and through a terminal block.

In picture #4, the coil wires are attached to
clip leads. One clip lead goes to the circuit
board and the other one goes to the
welding rod, which functions as a buss bar.

please get rid of the clip leads they will cause the smoke to come out of your components when one accidently comes off... you would be better off running from a battery for the primary. the spike has no where to go on the primary.

How right you are indeed. Lose the clip leads and replace with shorter wires, different wire size, permanent
connections. Replace power supply with battery.

Experiment to light a light bulb using 8-coiler is a success.
Yesterday and today.

The details of this experiment are to follow in this and following posts, maybe.

Light bulb description and details:
GE helical 13W 120VAC 60Hz 180mA

Procedure used:
1. connect a weak and strong battery in series to the charge side;
2. connect a VAM and set it to VDC 200 scale;
3. connect the power source;
4. give the wheel a manual start.

5. with machine running at full rpm connect the light bulb.
6. disconnect the ground terminal of the good battery.
7. the light bulb lights up with steady output.

The meter readout increases and settles at 50 VDC.

Change the meter dial to VAC on the 200 scale.
The readout settles at 100, plus a decimal value.

Caution: The NE2s will light during this experiment.

Conclusion: The machine has an output capability matching or exceeding the light bulb's requirement.

It plays the radio !!!

A scalar standing wave is created in the coil.
The coil develops an audible hum.
The scalar is an EM vector potential.
The EM vector potential goes to the battery, and keeps it charged.

Let's create a discussion: Why is the radio playing?

The above picture: When I attached a rectifier to the output, things
began to happen. First, the machine acted like it didn't want to run.
Because of my brainwashing, I had been under the impression that
in order for the charge battery to receive a charge, the wheel had to
be turning. I found out that when the coil goes into oscillation, the
charge battery gets charged from the coil. And I learned that while
in conditions of oscillation, the coil draws power from the run battery.
I learned also that a dead battery on the charge side would receive
a charge and become what I have since termed a virtual battery.

I explain virtual battery by comparing it to the so called RAMdrive
program in early computer science, whereby a portion of the
computer's RAM memory is reserved to act like an ordinary disk
drive. Nowadays we have the virtual PC.

So to illustrate that there is a virtual battery installed on this
machine, I took this picture of what two voltmeters are showing.
The one on the right shows the actual voltage of the charge battery.
The one on the left shows the reading of the virtual battery plus
the default battery. Understand.

As I write this, the radio is still playing. And it has been playing
continuously for about 8 hours. Yesterday I connected the radio
for the first time, and it played for 10 hours. This particular radio unit is
a multiband scanner type, and it is tuned to WX frequency, and
is giving the weather report every 5 minutes or so. It is designed
to operate from a wall adapter, or from a 12 vdc power plug. It
is connected through such a plug, and the plug is connected to
a rectifier, and the rectifier is connected to the output side of the
machine.

By experiment, this machine plays a small television.
It will also run a USB fan for about 10 seconds -- or until the
charge of the virtual battery is depleted. Also, when I
first connected the radio to the battery, it loaded the
battery and did not play.
