How long should it run for?

Hey guys I have built an SG directly from the beginners handbook and have been doing some battery condition runs now.

If was to hook up a capacitor dump to the energizer and simply swap back battery to front battery and let run (all things being tuned enough to get a COP <1), how long would run for?

Simple question but should it run indefinitely?

Oh well I was just thinking that if the batteries take less time to charge than drain then where does the rest go!
I just purchased a copy of the Intermediate book and had skim thru.. looks like the longest time JB had his running was 6 months I think it said, but I also heard the he had one running for 10 years under his work bench.
