I want to buy a kit to try out this bedini concept but I think $1000 is too much. Can anyone tell me where I can buy one cheaper?

Going cheap with this concept is not a good idea.
If you want to feel around the monopole, build your own from scrap parts and it will run for under $100 its a great way to learn.
But if you get serious cheap is a complete waste of time.
