    Hi everyone,

I was at harborfreight tools and they had these magnets hanging on an end cap

the ones on the left are the standard SG ones, part number 98406 it was 1 dollar for 2 magnets. the ones on the right are round 1/2" diameter and 3/16" thick. part number 98405 79 cents for a pack of 10. I do not know if these round ceramics will fit in the 3 pole rotor or the 6 pole rotor. JB has my 3 pole kit right now. if anyone can go get a packet of these and let us know if they fit, and if they are strong enough to trigger, that would be great! you may have to drill and double stack on the old aluminum rotors.

    Hi Tom,

In Canada we have a company called Princess Auto, which seems to be close to the partial equivalent of Harbor Freight.

Anyways, I have bought the comparable Chinese magnets of both types at Princess Auto. The standard SG magnets for the bike wheel are what I am using in my current build and they seem to work great so far.

I have tested the small round ones in my 3 pole kit and over time they have completely lost their magnetism so much so, that the machine ultimately would not run with them and it took me a couple of hours to figure that one out. Perhaps this was a bad batch of magnets... I don't know. But be on the look out for this. I also was pulsing them with a SG coil way out of the correct timing range so there is no doubt that they received some direct or indirect pulses from the coils and perhaps this was a contributing factor in the magnets demise as well.

One more thing out of a hundred and sixty standard SG bike wheel magnets I bought from Princess Auto, I had four or five that had a north pole in one area of the south face of the magnet.

Just thought I would share some documentation of my experiences and possibly what to be on the lookout for.
