  • SG Questions (Magnet wire size, Core Material, MOSFETs in series, Trigger circuit)

    Hi,

Sorry, I mean MOSFETs in parallel question. Been a long time for me but finally setting up a proper SG after recording about .7 average system COP and 1.7 battery COP on my SSG group experiment many years ago. Had a couple questions about the SG I am working on if anyone would like to comment:

Can I use a 1 watt resistance value for my trigger potentiometer, the manuals have these 15 watt resistors in there wondering if 1 watt is too little?

I am hopefully completing Peter Lindemann's capacitor discharge circuit, if I wanted to add a MOSFET to it would that increase the durability or lessen the chances of failure? Would I simply put it in the circuit just like the other two are connected?

The best capacitor I could find with a low ESR was a 63V 68000 uf capacitor. Is the 63 V versus the recommended 80V going to blow up?

AWG 20 magnet wire seems to be cheaper than AWG 16 for generator coil anyone know what effect using the smaller wire might have on the coil? Anyone try Aaron's suggestion of Precision Reloading BBs for core material?

Thanks especially to John B, Aaron and Peter Lindemann, will share my results if WW3 doesn't intervene.
