  • 2nd Bedini Build – messing with gravity wheels!

I’m actually building my 4th Bedini so I thought I’d better catch up with my forum updates.

I was going to build a completely different design however I was hunting through my garage and spotted a flywheel I’d removed from an Orbit exercise bike that someone had thrown out during bulk rubbish collection.

It had a 10mm ground shaft complete with nuts, washers and 2x 6000zz sealed bearings. I had been researching flywheels and gravity so I couldn’t resist trying it as a Bedini rotor.

I have upgraded the bearings to hybrid ceramic, completely degreased then synthetic oil added. I double stacked the magnets and reduced the size of my circuit.

The best tune I could get was 413 RPM on 110 milliamps draw which I feel is not bad considering the rotor weighs several kilos. Please let me know your thoughts because when it comes to improving my designs, I’m completely open to constructive criticism

    Kind regards - Wayne
