there is no secret. no 3D monopole topology, unless you mean all norths out. the north pole switches the core causing induced current in the trigger wire. which is why coil winding and orientation are important. the north pole on most magnets is a bit stronger than the south. howard Johnson showed this in his book the secret life of magnets, I think that is what it is called.

you are mixing floyd sweet and his vacuum triode amplifier, and the monopole. which means only north poles out - mono-pole.......

there ARE however specific things you can do to build it right, we have talked about those. match all components, match the coils, use 18 awg, all north CERAMIC magnets, limit mechanical friction, or build it solid state.

    Hi Faraday88

Can you please explain the terms you just mentioned, " Magnets are 'Conditioned' or are arranged in 3D monopole topology",

    more information please.

    Thanks

Can someone please elaborate on the conditioning of magnets and define 3d monopole topology. These are both new terms for me. I recall starting a thread "more about magnets" and it wasn't mentioned there!
    Am i missing something!
    Regards
    Jamie

    Hi,
I love to answer Fundamental question: well it does'nt really matter if it is S-pole or N-pole the term Monopole implies to either of these two , used as Single Pole (so Monopole) why John Choose to use N-pole consitently in all his writings, post, Patents, website ect. carries a deeper
Scalar -Electromagnetic base, well essestiall J.B has it experimentally verified about the Asymmetrical property of N-Pole camparrred to it Electric Counterpart.

    Best Regards,
    Faraday88.

Confuse about finding the North pole of my magnets...
Common sense is telling me the North pole of my magnet should attract the south part of my compass needle. Is it so?
I am asking because we know that magnets align themself N-S N-S N-S and so on. But I read somewhere that all our compass are wrong. Since the N on the compass needle point to the earth North pole, so in reality in order to follow the N-S-N-S alignment, the ''N'' on the compass needle should in reality be a ''S''.

Or is it our earth North pole that is in reality the south pole.....AAAaarrgghhhh!!!!

Hello all, I am gathering parts for a build. really trying to build it exactly as plans state... having trouble sourcing magnets... and wondering about tolerances. i have found locally a 1 x 2 x .5 ceramic, and want to know if this would work, and if so, how must my clearance between the coil change, father? tighter? or maybe i really need 1 x 2 x 3/8. thank you.

KJP, yes you can just flip the coil too.

    HI,
    Just let me clarify again.
For S pole SSG, can I use the coil's opposite side?
Because one side of a coil is N pole, and the another side is S pole, right?
That means I can put the coil on the another side up for S pole SSG motor?

Thanks John, I shall get me some of those. I was just being a cheapskate and using what I had floating around. The postage costs the same as the magnets.

P.S. I reckon theres gotta be about as many Aussies here as there are yanks

    Thanks, John
It sounds like that JB says to make N pole out, that means there are some meanings to do so. I wonder if someone has tried to make a S pole SSG motor?
I will think about buying a new rotor to re-build it.
    Thank you.
